USS Pensions Update
The University has indicated it would support a plan by the trustees of the USS pension to maintain the current defined benefits scheme, avoid far higher automatic increases for both members and employers scheduled for October, and allow time for the Joint Expert Panel to secure its long-term sustainability and restore confidence in its governance.
PDPR Review  new appraisal and reward schemes published
The final drafts of the new Appraisal & Development Conversations and Nottingham Reward Scheme have been published to staff, as the reform of the former PDPR process nears its conclusion.
Car parking
From Monday 1 July 2019 car parking permit holders will be able to apply for 2019/20 full permits. These permits are for drivers parking on campus from Sunday 1 September 2019 to 31 August 2020. The new permit year sees a price increase of five per cent on car parking charges.
School of Veterinary Medicine and Science: open afternoon
Earlier this year, the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science announced that it would be introducing a new dual-intake model to double the number of undergraduate students at the school. Want to find out more about this innovative new project? New self-service machines to be installed in libraries
University of Nottingham Libraries is upgrading the library self-service machines and security gates. The update will make the library resources even safer and make it faster and easier to borrow books.
Technicians provide unseen "vital frontline support for student mental health and wellbeing"
The vital role played by university technicians in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students has been recognised by a new report produced in collaboration with the University of Nottingham.
Event of the week Annual staff well-being conference 2019
Taking place Wednesday 3 July at the Teaching and Learning Building, this conference will bring together researchers, practitioners, alumni and communities working to innovate in health and wellbeing in Higher Education.

A Nottingham mother whose daughter died from an aggressive brain tumour last year, has raised over £21,000 for the University of Nottingham’s Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre.
